Wow! This project has come so far in these two short years. Writer and director Justin Simien wrote the first draft of the script in 2005 and the film premiered at Sundance back in January of this year. After all of that, the official full-length trailer is finally here! Check it out above and share it with your friends if you’re feelin it.
Trailer: “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story,” Oct. 21, 2013
Though I’m a little disappointed that TLC’s story won’t be seen in theaters, it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t share this with you all. This “first look” doesn’t really give much away about the storyline but it does give both eager fans and ruthless skeptics a chance to scope out Drew Sidora, Lil Mama and Keke Palmer in their roles as T-Boz, Left Eye and Chilli, respectively.
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey
Genre: Another “Will they or won’t they give Leo the Oscar?” flick
Yes, that’s Kanye playing in the background. Based on the lead character’s memoir, “The Wolf of Wallstreet” tells the story of Jordan Belfort (played by Leo), a highly successful ’90s stockbroker who eventually spent 22 months in jail due to market manipulations and corruption. In addition to DiCaprio, Hill and McConaughey, apparently Jean Dujardin from “The Artist,” Jon Favreau from “Swingers” and Rob Reiner from “All in the Family” are in it too.
Movie Mondays: “An Oversimplification of Her Beauty” (2012/2013)
By Terence Nance
Looking forward to seeing this one day! If you haven’t seen/heard about this film yet yet, there are a few ways easy ways to get familiar.
1. Watch the trailer above, 2. View a 2012 trailer, and/or 3. Read the synopsis below (from the website):
"You’ve just arrived home after a bad day. You’re broke and lonely, even though you live in the biggest and busiest city in America. You do, however, have one cause for mild optimism: you seem to have captured the attention of an intriguing young lady. You’ve rushed home to clean your apartment before she comes over. In your haste, you see that you’ve missed a call. There’s a voice mail; she tells you that she won’t be seeing you tonight.
With arresting insight, vulnerability, and a delightful sense of humor, Terence Nance’s explosively creative debut feature, AN OVERSIMPLIFICATION OF HER BEAUTY, documents the relationship between Terence and a lovely young woman (Namik Minter) as it teeters on the divide between platonic and romantic. Utilizing a tapestry of live action and various styles of animation, Terence explores the fantasies, emotions, and memories that race through his mind during a singular moment in time.”

Starring: Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Al Pacino, Russell Brand
Genre: Genuinely funny and heartwarming 3D-animated comedy
I’m so happy “Despicable Me” is back! In this follow-up to the 2010 film, Gru (Carrell) is kidnapped by the Anti-Villain League to help them stop a new evil villain (Pacino). Kristen Wiig moves from voicing orphanage headmaster Miss Hattie to voicing Anti-Villain League agent Lucy Wilde.
Given the use of Eminem’s “Without Me” in the trailer, I’d venture to say the music will be just as cool as the original soundtrack, which was produced by Pharrell.
